WELCOME DR. ROBYN HAYES!!!!
Dr. Hayes has settled in with us here at ESAC over the last 2 months and we couldn’t be happier to have her! ESAC is so lucky she has joined our family. What an asset!
Dr. Hayes grew up in a small town in upstate New York. She completed her undergraduate degree in Animal Science at Cornell University. After attending the Royal Veterinary College in England for two years, Dr. Hayes transferred to North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. After graudation, she moved to West Virgina and worked as an associate veterinarian at a large multi-doctor practice in Morgantown. While at this practice she completed course work for Canine Rehabitation through the Univeristy of Tennessee. After leaving Morgantown, Dr. Hayes worked in Washintgon, PA for Banfield, The Pet Hospital for one year prior to moving to Louisville, KY to be closer to family in the Kentucky-Tennessee area in 2009.
Dr. Hayes worked at Breckenridge Animal Hospital in Louisville, KY for four and a half years prior to joining the team at East Shelbyville Animal Clinic. During that time she completed certification courses in Veterinary Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine Veterinary Food Therapy. Dr. Hayes prefers to incorporate western and eastern medicine principles into daily veterinary practice to ensure the best medical care for your pets. In addition to traditional chinese medicine, Dr. Hayes enjoys working on behavior cases, complex dermatology issues and soft tissue surgery. She practices low stress handling and restraint protocols to make veterinary visits less stressful for you pets.
When not at the office, Dr. Hayes enjoys hiking, camping, horseback riding, gardening and reading. She is the current president of Slugger City Bully Buddies a Louisville based non-profit that focuses on promoting responsible ownersip of pit-bull type dogs and offers free behavior assistance and basic obedience training to pit bull owners. Dr. Hayes shares her life with her husband Richard and their four dogs, Maddie (GSD), Ollie, (GSD/Pit mix), Mirko (Staffordshire bull terrier) and Izzy (min pin mix).
